PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)

  • Quick Symptom Relief: KAP has been noted for its ability to bring about fast relief from PTSD symptoms, which can be particularly beneficial for those who haven’t had success with traditional methods. Ketamine helps interrupt the negative emotional loops tied to trauma, offering faster relief than standard therapeutic approaches.
  • Easier Processing of Trauma: Ketamine can make it easier to process and talk about traumatic experiences without being overwhelmed by emotional distress. This makes it easier for patients to engage in therapy and process trauma more effectively, which is vital for long-term healing from PTSD.
  • Encourages Brain Healing: KAP promotes neuroplasticity, meaning it helps the brain form new, healthier connections. This capability supports the development of better coping mechanisms and emotional resilience in the face of trauma.

Chronic Pain

  • Modulates Pain Signaling: Ketamine affects NMDA receptors in the nervous system, helping to reduce pain signals. It’s been shown to provide relief for chronic pain conditions, especially for those who haven’t found success with other treatments, including conditions like fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome.
  • Potential Reduction in Opioid Use: For chronic pain sufferers who rely on opioids, ketamine offers an alternative approach. By effectively reducing pain, ketamine may help lessen the reliance on opioid medications, thereby reducing the associated risks of addiction and side effects.
  • Improved Daily Functioning: With better pain management, KAP can enhance overall quality of life by allowing patients to engage more fully in everyday activities and reduce the psychological strain associated with chronic pain.

Depression

  • Rapid Onset of Effects: Unlike traditional antidepressants, which can take weeks to produce noticeable results, ketamine can significantly improve symptoms within hours or days. This is particularly valuable for those with treatment-resistant depression or individuals in acute crisis, such as those experiencing suicidal ideation.
  • Restores Brain Functioning: KAP helps regenerate connections in areas of the brain that control mood and cognition, which are often disrupted in depression. This helps foster long-term improvements and resilience against future depressive episodes.
  • Enhanced Motivation and Emotional Balance: By improving emotional regulation and motivation, KAP helps patients become more engaged in daily life and in the therapeutic process, offering a path toward sustained recovery.

These benefits make KAP an effective option for addressing complex conditions like PTSD, chronic pain, and depression, combining the biological effects of ketamine with the therapeutic support of counseling for holistic healing.

Why Must KAP Be Paid Out of Pocket?

Unfortunately, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is not currently covered by insurance because it is considered an "off-label" use of ketamine, which means it's used in a manner not specifically approved by the FDA for mental health treatment. Despite growing research supporting its efficacy, insurance companies have been slow to adopt coverage for KAP, meaning clients must pay out of pocket.

However, paying out of pocket has its advantages:

  1. No Insurance Limitations: When paying privately, you aren't restricted by the number of sessions or specific treatment protocols dictated by insurance companies. This allows for a more individualized and flexible approach.
  2. Confidentiality: Paying out of pocket ensures that no mental health diagnoses or treatment plans are reported to your insurance provider, safeguarding your privacy.
  3. Tailored Treatment Plans: Without the constraints of insurance, our team can tailor your treatment plan based on your unique needs, focusing solely on your mental health goals without worrying about pre-approvals or limitations on session frequency.

We understand that paying out of pocket can be challenging, which is why we offer flexible packages and discounts to make this transformative treatment more accessible. Contact us today to discuss payment plans or package options that suit your needs!
